We both spent years in Berlin's startup world, stuck in Excel-heavy office jobs — until we decided to try something completely different. (Who can't relate to that?)

As people who wake up thinking about what's for dinner, with all our love for a pizza style barely known in Europe, the choice was simple. So in 2023 we founded Slice Society, and in 2024 opened our doors on Torstraße — a New York–style pizzeria, made fresh every day.

Finding the right ingredients for a style barely known in Europe was painful, to put it mildly. In Germany, no one knew what low-moisture mozzarella was, and pepperoni was thought to be a kind of chili, not a famous salami.

But altering the taste of our beloved New York pizza by using the wrong ingredients was never an option. Everything here is made by hand — dough, pesto, hot honey, garlic butter breadcrumbs — fresh, on site.
